WaterSecure is a local initiative started by area teenagers who saw a problem close to home: many families can't be sure the water they drink is safe. They raised the funding and give their own time to do something about it.
Every service is provided at no cost to homeowners. WaterSecure isn't a business, and there's nothing to buy. The goal is simply clean, safe water for the community.
Private Well Testing
Many rural homes rely on private wells that no public agency monitors. The WaterSecure team tests well water for common contaminants and walks homeowners through what the results mean.
Filtration
When a test turns up a problem, the team helps the household choose and install the right filtration, free of charge.
Watershed Cleanups
Community cleanup days, organized and led by the WaterSecure team, clear trash and debris from the land that drains into local waterways.
Surface Water Protection
Community-driven projects to protect and preserve local streams, creeks, and rivers, the waterways that support wildlife, recreation, and everyone downstream.
The testing and filtration work is carried out by the WaterSecure team directly. The cleanups and stream projects are open to anyone in the community who wants to help.
